Serving as a home to the Eau Claire Freemasons since its completion in 1928, this building has been the site for one of Eau Claire’s oldest fraternal organizations. Established locally in 1859, it would be nearly 70 years before the group would acquire a six-lot tract of land in the 600 block of what was then South River Street. Construction of the building that you see today began in 1927, at what is currently Graham Avenue. On the bank of the Chippewa River, this grand 47,000 Neo-classical structure stands ready to welcome you back in time. Step inside to polished terrazzo floors and spacious ceilings – downtown’s elegant setting from a time gone by. Past events at the Masonic Building’s Grand Ballroom and Auditorium have included dinner theaters, three Harvest Balls, and many wedding ceremonies and receptions. On the National Registry of Historic Places, the Temple of Freemasonry offers several of its ample spaces for special events. Experience the elegance of the past and host your next special occasion at the Historic Masonic Building!
